COVID-19 Unites Us All :: Driving Advances in Remote Care
Let’s UNITE to drive awareness about the value of REMOTE MONITORING by developing a pipeline of INNOVATION to fight COVID-19 and advance the emerging remote care market!
COVID-19 has created a worldwide crisis that has shaken our communities to the core. Beyond the dangers of the virus itself, its impact will ripple through our economy and healthcare system for years to come. However, this presents us with a unique opportunity for our communities, policymakers, healthcare organizations, and technology innovators to come together and create new solutions that solve problems not only during the era of COVID-19, but which are sustained long after the pandemic has passed and that support the healthcare system’s successful transformation from in-hospital care to remote care.
“The time is now to accelerate innovation in remote care through crowdsourced ideas. Great ideas abound, and this program will serve as a vehicle to incubate innovation throughout the crisis and beyond.”
“The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated that reliable sources of personal health data are critical to informing effective public health decisions. We are excited to be working with DHIT to gather thought leaders in research, wearable health technologies, healthcare, and public health for in-depth explorations of this topic and to advance new technologies that can address critical health challenges.”
“Thank you for putting together such an insightful, timely webinar. Thank you to Angela Yochem and Sujoy Kar for investing an hour out of your busy schedule to share some insights on Telehealth and Telemedicine.”
“Great job! This dialog has created new directions and opportunities. Let’s continue this conversation and make it happen.”
To activate the ecosystem and create a pipeline of innovation to address COVID-19’s evolving needs as well as the needs of our emerging remote care system, the ASSIST Center (Advanced Self-Powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies) based at North Carolina State University and DHIT (the Digital Health Institute for Transformation) based in the North Carolina Triangle are partnering to launch a virtual crowdsourced incubator that will serve as an innovation engine for advanced remote care.
Program hosted by
Establishing the Call to Action through a biweekly Webinar Series
The Webinar Series will host executives and thought leaders from across healthcare, life sciences, social sciences, technology, and innovation to discuss the advances, opportunities, and challenges of remote monitoring in the context of COVID-19 and the evolving models of remote care.
Sourcing, validating, and advancing ideas through a virtual Innovation Sprint
To put talk-into-action, problem statements will emerge from the Webinar Series that will expose the challenges and opportunities that COVID-19 and the emergence of remote care present. The program will feature advanced research technologies from the ASSIST Center as well as commercial platforms, with the intent of crowdsourcing new solutions to high impact problems.
