In the past, enterprises and innovators have most often focused on protecting the intellectual property (IP) in their physical outputs – devices, structures, configurations, manufacturing processes, etc.  While these are still present, the Internet of Things (IoT) adds additional layers of intelligence such as edge computing, virtualization, data accumulation, analytics, and user experience.  This talk will review the various forms of IP and discuss some strategies for identifying and protecting the IP in IoT innovations.
