The talk will focus on the importance of patents in developing research-stage findings into products ready for the marketplace, and will describe the patent examination process including the standards for patentability, the duration of the examination process, and how to contact a patent examiner to discuss your application. Kolker will also share resources available to independent inventors and entrepreneurs including the pro se and pro bono programs.
