SUMMARY:Use Cases & Technical Considerations for In-Body Wireless Medical Devices
DESCRIPTION:Wireless medical devices (“wearables”) applied on us\, in us and around us present great opportunities for clinical research\, early prediction of disease\, care delivery\, and healthcare management. In-body medical devices may be injected\, implanted\, or ingested and\, when paired with complementary medical devices\, may support remote patient monitoring\, therapy delivery\, or diagnostic purposes. Each of these use cases follows a different technical architecture as it relates to communication channel\, power source\, device encryption\, and overall security. \nThis workshop will present the following learning opportunities: \n\nAddressing the technical challenges with in-body wireless devices as it relates to communication channel disruption in different environments\nUnderstanding the different security vulnerabilities associated with the various communication channels and with the device\nTechnical challenges as it relates to device sustainability in terms of power and in-body durability\nProviding technical insight on how to best evaluate the appropriate in-body and wearable devices for your use case\n\nContribute to solutions with real-time evaluation and analysis in a wearables’ development lab in Raleigh\, NC. The workshop is designed to bring awareness of technical challenges that may be addressed both via standards development and within an in-situ development lab. The development lab in collaboration with the ASSIST Center and harmonizing outcomes through the IEEE Global WAMIII Platform Development Lab. \n\n+ GOOGLE CALENDAR+ ICAL EXPORT

SUMMARY:Senior Care – Issues/Needs/Trends and Technology Solutions
DESCRIPTION:Digital Health @ RTP’s key objective is to bring business/domain experts and technology solution providers together to facilitate discussions so that the entrepreneurship is nurtured to carve out technology solutions for a wide variety of needs across the healthcare spectrum. Senior care is one such area of healthcare that has significant growth and tremendous opportunities for technology solutions. \nAs the Baby Boomer population ages\, society is on the cusp of dealing with an unprecedented number of senior citizens who will need elder care. An intensifying shortage of US home health aides and physicians\, a booming senior population\, and the prevalence of chronic illnesses all point to a need for transformative solutions when it comes to senior care services. This problem is serious but increasing digitization and analytics in the healthcare industry can help bring down costs\, improve care quality\, and create a more sustainable business model for senior care. \nWe are excited to announce a meetup session to discuss the issues\, needs\, trends in senior care market\, and a myriad of digital solutions such as Telemedicine\, IoT\, Wearables\, Smart Assistants\, Artificial Intelligence\, Robotics and Data Analytics that are shaping up to address those needs. \nIf you are an entrepreneur or a technology professional\, looking to develop a business or technology solutions\, or just want to learn more about this space\, attend this event. \nSpeakers \nSanjay Das\nPresident\, Always Best Care Senior Services \nSanjay is the president of Always Best Care Senior Services in South Wake and Johnston counties since 2014.
