Thank you! To celebrate our collective health initiatives and the region’s opportunities, we come together for a year-end event networking mixer at Smashing Boxes in Downtown Durham “The City of Medicine.” Numerous members are coming together across multiple health industries, networks and meet-up groups. Each group will have representatives present plus the evening will include 2 speakers sharing more on upcoming perspectives about “The Use of Biometrics in Health.”

Speakers:

Robert Furberg, PhD, MBA, is a senior clinical informaticist in RTI’s Digital Health and Clinical Informatics program. He bring extensive skills in technical management, agile science and agile software development methods, user-centered design, and analysis of technology-enabled health behavior change interventions. Dr. Furberg has conducted numerous studies on digital interventions to support health promotion, primary and secondary disease prevention, and treatment adherence across a variety of patient populations. He has designed and implemented several digital health-based quality improvement interventions for use by patients and providers, including clinical decision support tools to improve screening pediatric patients at risk for cardiovascular disease (NIH-NHLBI), promoting preventive health services and informed medical decision making in primary care (AHRQ, CDC), and improving treatment adherence among persons living with HIV (HRSA). His current work explores how sensor-based biometric data and emerging health technologies can be used to support individualized prevention and disease management strategies (DOJ, CDC, NSF).

Jeff Rogers, Vice President Channel Partnerships at Comprehend Systems, brings more than 20 years of experience developing and executing sales and go-to-market strategies for software and services organizations. Jeff has a history of successfully developing and leading high performing teams that provide clinical software and services to global Life Sciences companies of all sizes. Since 2007, Jeff has led the introduction and promotion of several innovative clinical technologies that help Life Sciences companies optimize their operations, improve the clinical trial process and bring life saving drugs to market faster. In his current role, Jeff works closely with Life Sciences companies that require near real-time access to their clinical data, a better understanding of their clinical development activities in real-time and technology to help them make fact-based decisions about their business.

Triangle Healthcare Executives’ Forum of NC is an independent chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). The mission is to be the professional membership society for healthcare executives in the region; to meet the members’ professional, educational, and leadership needs; and through these aspects, to advance healthcare management excellence.

Digital Health @ RTP is a meetup group in RTP focusing on discussing about a specific health issue/challenges, digital solutions that local community is working towards addressing that problem.
